biographie de mika
Mica Penniman est né le 18 août 1983 à Beyrouth, d'une mère libanaise et d'un père américain. En 1984, la famille quitte le Liban en guerre et s'installe à Paris.
A neuf ans, les Penniman quittent la France pour Londres. Mika y continue sa scolarité au lycée français Charles de Gaulle, puis à la Westminster school et au Royal College of Music. A 19 ans, il arrête les études pour se consacrer à sa carrière artistique.

Malgré son jeune âge, Mika est un touche-à-tout qui cumule très vite les activités : ainsi, il chante au Royal Opera House, compose des musiques d'ambiance pour British Airways et écrit des jingles publicitaires. Il se fait connaître du grand public en 2006 via sa page MySpace et sort en Grande-Bretagne, sous le label Casablanca, son premier single "Relax (Take it easy)". Son deuxième single, "Grace Kelly", sort quant à lui en janvier 2007 et le propulse directement à la première place des charts britanniques.

Depuis le 5 février 2007, "Life in cartoon motion", le premier album de Mika, est disponible dans les bacs. Les ventes de l'album confirment le succès annoncé par le second single puisqu'il se place également à la première place des charts ! Le public et la presse sont unanimes et ne cessent d'encenser ce nouvel artiste en le comparant à Freddie Mercury, Elton John, George Michael ou les Scissor sisters. Un nouveau phénomène est apparu sur la planète pop !
